Otherwise It would be awesome to be able to sing like one of the dudes from Huun-Huur-Tu .... that stuff is incredible. Or I would sing like Silenius from Abigor, that guy probably did so much damage to his voice box he probably sounds almost as cool as Lemmy.
Also, It would be awesome to have the vocal abilities of Mikael Akerfeldt.

It would be. I imagine my wife might think otherwise after a couple days.

A bunch of folks I'd love to sound like:
Sam Cooke
Conway Twitty
Steve Perry
Sammy Hagar
Roger Daltrey
Jay Black (of Jay and the Americans...listen to Cara Mia)
George Harrison, I always thought he had the best voice of all the Beatles

I imagine you probably picked a woman with good taste. So it would probably take less than a few days :) A day if you're lucky ... hehehehe

Joss Stone

That's a good one, I thought about it. But would the accent be all the time or only when I sing?
what accent? :p

Here's her tribute to Janis Joplin (along with Melissa Etheridge), but she clearly out sings even Etheridge in my book

oooh, nice, yeah she does.

nice solid voice. too clean for that song though...or maybe I just can't get Janis' whiskey voice out of my head.

are you saying she does Janis better than Janis? :p

BLASPHEMY
Not that she was a great singer, but she gave the songs exactly the sound that worked.

not nearly. I'm saying she's a pimple on Janis' drunken ass in comparison.

Not that Joss is bad, just that Janis is so untouchable.

The studio version of T. Pain :D I'd come in to a room with 15 second talk-boxed moan every day

Edit for those older dudes who have no idea who i'm referring to :p

What would that be, Michael Bolton?

For women, I've always really liked the voice of Mama Cass. Alternatively, the gal from Dead can Dance is ridiculously talented.

I'd add the singer from Cowboy Junkies.

As a guy, I'll go with Chris Cornell or Jim Morrison.

she did the best that anyone could. Janis would've likely liked it (had she sobered up long enough to listen).
