If you could play any console game on it's original platform what would it be?

A huge used game store just opened in my town and a guy I know says they have pretty much every system and thousands of games. I haven't been yet, so I can't verify completely, but their TV ads are pretty impressive. I'm going to check it out tommorow or Friday.

I'm thinking about picking up a PS1 and FF8 and 9 if they have them. I played FF7 and FF10 and enjoyed both, but I missed the ones in between.

If they have Ninja Gaiden I might get that.

I also might pick up a Dreamcast and a few games for fun. I've never played one.

What would you get? I need some ideas to mull over.

Keep in mind that if you're going to be hooking up pre-HD consoles on a very modern TV the games have a tendency to look like crap. Unless I'm completely overlooking something, but that has been my experience with a PS1 and a Gamecube on my 55" LCD.

Controllers prior to the original XBox and now 360 ones were complete crap, in my opinion. With exception of MAYBE the Genesis controller.
I don't think I could stand to play any older game on its original system, regardless of how fun it was.

Playstation controller since release has been better.

Luckily I still have a 32" CRT downstairs, and a 20" CRT in the garage.

I think I might consider getting a Sega and NHL 94 or NHL 95. But there's no way I'm buying 3 or 4 consoles.

I have to make a choice.

I bet they look just as bad on an old CRT TV.

PS1 or SNES. You'll quickly run out of library with the Dreamcast and, well, the others just aren't as good 😉
