I have always loved this one song of his.

Choosing one band would be hard. If it has to be a band, my safe "for the rest of your life" choice would have to be the Beatles, for the amazing breadth and diversity of their career.

My emotional choice of a band would be THE Band -- "Please Mrs. Henry, Mrs. Henry please!" -- with Bobby D. down in that basement.

But, aside from bands, for sheer lyrical genius, Mr. Zimmerman stands just about alone -- although Tom Waits would also do.

For a vocal band, it would be Dylan all the way. I think I'll have to go with Miles Davis though. Mellow and moody, to edgy and scary. There's something for every mood, and is never a wrong choice no matter the occasion :^)

I came in to post Floyd, but left in confusion. Many other good choices here :)

I'd rather have no music

Same here.

I hate listening to the same songs more than a few times. I never buy CDs because once I've listened to them all the way through a couple times, I never want to hear another song on that CD again. I don't even bother keeping a music collection, I just use Pandora and listen to the radio and that works out fairly well.

Honestly, if I could only listen to one band for the rest of my life I probably wouldn't listen to music after the first month or two. Maybe a bit longer if it was the Beatles.
