a 1000 years in the future would you do it? There is no guaranty civilization will be left and you can't take anyone with you.
 
So I'd be like Fry. It's tough to say. Assuming humanity had progressed as much as it did in the last 1000 years, you'd be starting from square one. Like a baby. Maybe if the whole medical cryogenics thing wasn't a scam, and I had a terminal disease, I'd do it.
 
No. Chances are things would be so drastically different that I would hate myself for the decisions. I would hope that society would be smart enough to treat me well, but with my luck, I'd be instantly captured and turned into some kind of living experiment so that they could see how far things have progressed, or what the differences between me and their Y2K biologically-similar clones are.

If I was terminally ill, sick of life, or old I would probably do it, though.

Edit: that's all assuming that I wake up a thousand years in the future, and there's no going back. If I woke up a thousand years in the future and could somehow wake up the next day back in present time, then I would absolutely do it.

No. I have a competitive stance in the world here. If I went to the future, sure there would be lots of cool stuff, but I'd be completely unprepared for the world.
