if you could afford to drink more alcoholic beverages and/or more often, would you?

i might try drinking a glass of red wine with dinner to combat heart disease but that would be about it.

No. Alcohol is bad for you, believe it or not. It deteriorates your brain incrementally. Also, the more you drink, the more you like to drink, and the less you like to not drink.

I can afford to drink more/more often than I do. I just don't. I drink just as much as I want to (one or two a week, tops, usually.) I drank more when I was younger, but just don't feel the need to get drunk anymore.

not really. I brew my own beer so its very affordable. If I had a lot more descrectionary income, I would probably keep a larger selection of high end tequila and scotch.

I wouldn't, I can afford to drink pretty much on a steady drip and have quite often especially last year. Lately I haven't had the taste for it so much.

Steady drip in my case was up to a high of 93 in one week, and an average of about a case every 2 days. There's been 1 sitting in my fridge about a week now.

I would drink more. I miss "Drinkin' with Lincoln" nights at the local bar back home... 5 cent beers... 8oz at a time.

Right now I only have about 4 drinks a month. :(

I broke off an engagement because my fiance drank that much. 12-18 beers a day, every day. He woke up in withdrawal every morning. That is alcoholism, physically at least (and emotionally for him as well).

I don't think it is alcholism at all for me....I also drink about 4-6 2 liters of coke a day if that's what I am drinking. Maybe I have a drinking addiction though.

Whenever someone would accuse me of being an 'alcoholic' I would just stop drinking for a few weeks no problem. No withdrawl. Being I was working and drinking slow it wasn't a drunken situation....maybe 1 beer every 1.5 hours on average.

Lately I have been doing just soda....had about 5 beers a week ago and the last one has just been sitting, an alcoholic wouldn't allow for that ;)

I've cut back to one glass of wine a day during the week. On the weekends, 4-6 beers over a few hours with friends. The days of getting competely wasted are behind I think. Plus, drinking less means I can spend more on better drinks.

He would wake up and have a six pack of diet Coke for breakfast every day. He also drank slowly and wasn't often drunk. I spoke to a doctor at the time, and she told me that at the rate he drank, his body would be in withdrawal each morning. I haven't seen him in almost 11 years...wonder what ever happened to him. His liver couldn't be in good shape.

Alcoholism is different for everyone in how it manifests itself. 12 beers a day is heavy drinking.
