Amen.

My #2 choice is getting rid of the tax code. That will go a long, long way to keeping politicians honest. Now special interests can't lobby for tax loopholes. And I get to keep alot more of my money. :)

The law stopping Arnie becoming your president ;)

I wanna see him threatening terrorists and grubby little nations that can't seem to behave in a civil fashion :D

From what I see he would just bend to whatever is fashionable and politically expedient at the moment.

Please...you clearly don't know WTF you are talking about.

Raise the national speed limit to 70. Licence suspention for first speeding offence. Permanent license termination for the third offence.

Legalise use of deadly force to defend property from theft or vandalism as long as you are on your own property.

Repealing of the GCA of 1968 and the NFA of 1934. Criminals don't follow the law anyway, only hurts law abiding gun owners.

Also, I would want to stop all the gerrymandering of districts, that is getting way out of hand.

Add a law. In order to receive Government benefits, you have to put into the system.

If people worked for 10 years, they have accrued enough funds for certain services such as unemployment benefits and/or temporary welfare, 20 years, get more services such as free health care, 30 years, get more services such as social security.

This will reduce the amount of people who use benefits and do nothing for the system.

change the general rule that each party bears its own legal costs in a lawsuit, to a "loser pays" system as in other Western countries.

so, not only do you get hosed when someone commits a tort against you, but because the other guys lied on the stand and there wasn't much other evidence to begin with, you go bankrupt with the attorneys' fees. great system there.

I would change the ridiculous election system. In most countries, the party who gets the most votes wins, but not in the USA.

we don't vote for parties in the US. for president, the person who gets the most votes does win. and for every other election.

how?

you could change it to statewide voting, and the top XX candidates to receive votes all get seats.

you could change to proportional representation, although i have issues with that because it gives far too much power to party machines.

other than that, how do you develop a practicable, repeatable standard for what is gerrymandered and what is not? you know it when you see it is not a standard?
