If you carry your Social Security card in your wallet - why?

Not neccesarily. I suppose you think every little kid is an illegal alien until he gets a social security number?

I dont even think you are required to have a SSN...I had a professor in one of my CS classes that was a big privacy nut guy, and he said he was working on getting rid of his SSN...i dont know all the details.

i carry mine in my wallet because several (3 or 4) years ago i needed it for a job application. too lazy to ever take it out. i dont get around to cleaning my wallet very often :D. yes, i'm aware that its a bad idea. maybe i will take it out - i have the number memorized now, of course.
