Has anyone noticed the increasing trend of bad drivers trying to reverse park? WTF.

I parked my car at work today in the corner (so that I could park as close as possible to the right corner so those fvcks with big doors won't ding my car). Of course, when I get out and walk to my car, I see an old as fvck buick reverse parked about 1ft away from my car.

Here's a big 'fvck you' to all crappy drivers out there. Why is it that no matter how far away I park from your POS cars, you follow me?

I saw a girl here on campus that tried for quite a while to parallel park by going forward into the spot....

i had just finished reverse parking into my spot and some girl comes flying into the spot next to me at seriously probably 20mph and in her turn BARELY misses my car by literally less than 2 inches (probably less than one!)

I was like"WTF!!!"

she got out and was like "did I just hit your car?" all casually...

I had the look on my face that can best be described as ------> :|

Reverse park confused me for a minute. Parking in reverse, or as I like to call it: "Parking in the go position."

reverse park is a term ive never heard before, however there is nothing wrong with parking ass end into the space, it makes pulling out a lot easier

Anything to make that easier and faster is a good thing.

A guy backed into my 3000GT while trying to back his Tundra into a parking spot.. It happened at a body shop while I was standing there getting a quote to fix some other paint damage. I was not happy :|

there was once time I resversed park my car into a tight spot. I got in with 1 try. trust me, it was very smooth. well, I barely got out of my car. the car next to me was a coupe, he left me a note on the windshield that said "a$$hole."

I did amazed how skillful I was.

Seriously, just park normally if you cannot reverse park properly. I have seen enough drivers who will waste ~2-3 min extra trying to reverse park. I have probably never tried to reverse park myself (unless it is absolute necessary which I have found never to be true)

My dad used to reverse park all the time too until one day, he hit his car while parking reverse to the pole. That caused the rear bumper of his car to fall down and crack at one place. Took me ~1hr to put it back into place properly (bumpers on newer cars is just plastic) but it is still cracked at one place. Now, he has stopped reverse parking but still does it once in a while :(

if you cant reverse park at 40 just dont drive

people really need to learn how to drive the vehicle that they have. I dont think any thing could piss me off more than when I find my car with a new scratch that is obviously someone else just using my car as a queue for their boxes or whatever they are putting into their own car

i can back in any car/suv/truck/whatever faster than it takes most people to head in park =P

probably the only useful skilled i learned valet'ing for 3 years

that being said, if a person KNOWS how to back a car into a parking spot, it is far superior to parking head in

you dont. its very amusing watching people parallel park in cities. At my favorit chinese place here you get seated basically on the street, and watching idiots screw up their parallel parking jobs provides lots of humor. On that note, i dont reverse park, simply out of laziness.

I do it all the time. I takes less time than backing in.

Backing in is safer, but I agree, if you can't do it don't try.

On another note, have you ever noticed those jerks who deliberately park across two spots so that no one will park near them? I understand you like your car, and if they're in a huge parking lot a ways away from the entrance I don't care, but one time I was at an ice cream place where the ONLY parking spot was half-filled by some flashy sports car. Obviously trying to keep everyone else out. Of course, I knew exactly how wide my car was, so I pulled in anyway, leaving enough room for the car on my right but only inches between me and the sports car. He had to back out VERY carefully:evil:

It is easier to fit the car in a restricted space going in reverse (or I should say there are places where you can not bring your car in forward gear).
OK, it is harder to go in reverse in a place, but there are places where you simply can not go forward.

I saw a guy try to reverse park into a spot, hit the pole behind the spot and bring the 20 foot pole + this huge sign half the size of his car crashing down to the ground. It was surprising no one got hurt. It was obvious from his expression that he would be attempting to reverse park in the future.

this happened at work the other day. and we only have like a dozen spaces so i had to go ahead and ask one of the secretaries to figure out who it was parked over two spots so they could fix themselves.
