I am glad there are still people like that......some would say those days are gone!!
Well, that was in 1970, so maybe those days are gone... not really, there are people around who live for their passion, obviously. I mean what else is there to do?

If how much money you made wasn't a concern, I'd captain a boat that would take people diving and/or fishing down in the Caribbean.

I don't know. If you got your wish, would you instantly become proficient/an expert in that job or field? Or would you simply have the job with your current skillset? I imagine a lot of people would fail miserably at their dream jobs.

Anything to do with a local NHL team really. I would love to be a part of all the behind-the-scenes stuff.

In the Bahamas we took one of those excursions to go diving to see the coral beneath. The captain/owner looked like he loved what he did showing us everything underwater (hand signals) but also looked pretty stressed because all their income comes from tourists. If you take away that 1 factor, I'm sure it would be a great gig.

Assuming I can't have knowledge I don't currently possess, and/or expensive equipment/land, I'd go for arborist. I don't know it well enough to be "professional" *this minute*, but I have a clue what to do, and I'll nail it soon enough.

Yeah generally speaking, they do not make much money and don't live any kind of lavish lifestyles or anything. I know a lot of dive masters don't even get paid they work only on tips, but obviously they get to do dives for free while guiding people. Most of them also get free air fills and tank rentals from the companies so they can dive for free on their spare time though.

But I was talking with the dive masters about this when I was getting certified and they pretty much work 7 days a week from 7am to 4 or 5pm. And most of them will move to a country for a year or two then move to another country and work for a dive shop there. The one I was talking to lived with 3 other people who all work in the industry in a small house. It's just a certain lifestyle.

That said though, that's still a bit different than a captain. I would do more of a private charter type of gig instead of these mainstream ones. But ... it's never going to happen because it's just not in my cards.

I've always heard this question but it's a tough one for me, cause I'd rather not have a job rofl. But I'm sure after a while I'd get bored.

So actually I think freelance software or game developer would be my first choice (I'm a software developer now too). I guess it's what I'm good at and I do enjoy it.

I'd say SWAT team member too but I don't know if I'd be any good at that. Or maybe pilot would be tied with developer.
