Have you ever dropped a toshiba 1.8" hard drive that's made for laptops or iPods? Have you ever dropped a hitachi microdrive / seagate st1 microdrive?

I have. It worked afterwords. It was not in operation though, which would make a difference.

How do you know they "clearly" have dropped it or caused some sort of abuse. How do we not know that it's shotty workmanship from a non certified third party? Unless you have proof they've caused harm, it's just as likely that your workmanship (or lack there of) is also the cause.

Also, couldn't have this stayed in the other thread than you try to promote your services? You were saying what you needed in the other thread....why post it again????
How is this post promoting my services?

I'm simply bitching about something a guy posted in another thread. I interpreted my own experiences dealing with assholes like that who expect things getting fixed. No where am I promoting anything except the whole ipod thing is in my sig. That's it.

That's like attention whore dartworth promoting free hosting. Sure, he's giving away free hosting, however he expects to get some form of revenue out of it, otherwise he wouldn't do it, simple fact.

I was simply ranting, in no way promoting my services. I never said in my main post "HEY EVERYONE, USE MY FRICKEN iPOD FIXING SERVICES"...

Reading comprehension & ATOT readers = pathetic.

Reading comprehension? Are you retarded or something? This has nothing to do with anyones ability to READ. This has to do with you creating a new topic and talking about your "services" or "problems". It should have stayed in the same thread. There was no need to start another one, other than free promotion.

I find it very interesting you didn't even comment on your possible shotty workmanship. For some reason you have customers who you "know" must be breaking their products. Very interesting.

At least the customers know if they have problems a month or so down the road that it's automatically their fault! I mean they had to have dropped it or abused it! Awesome customer service and supporting your services.
I'm ranting about something else, I'm in no way promoting anything, if you can't figure that out you can piss off.

And I don't just tell customers to screw off if something didn't turn out right, however if I sell you something and it works great for 3 months and all the sudden it just doesn't work, what am I supposed to do? Lose the small amount of profit I made fixing the thing for people because I'm trying to get people to use the service?

Since you've never taken an iPod apart or worked on them how can you even bother to complain to me about it? iPod hard drives die all the time because people drop them. It almost should be documented that if you drop it a few times it will break, it's a hard drive. That's what all the problems are.

One lady bought a 4th gen 40GB iPod from me for $200... I bought it for $100 myself, so great. I tested it, it worked great. She got it, worked great, and then I don't know what she did to it but it died. I didn't have a 40GB drive but I did have a 20GB, so I offered here that. (Lost $80 on that)... works great for a while and then she comes back to me again and says it's doing the same thing as before. I get it back yet again and the hard drive was bad. These were both tested and very good hard drives. There's obviously something wrong when someone can manage to break two iPod hard drives in a short amount of time.

It's frustrating, because I lost a part and money due to a stupid user. The new owner of that iPod which I lost even more money on, hasn't had any problems with it. The lady who had it obviously abused it, which pisses me off.

I don't appreciate barely making it and then having people break stuff "accidently" and then expecting me to fix it. If it was anything other than the hard drive I'd gladly fix it, because all the other parts are incredibly cheap.

Yeah, I'm sure they drop their iPods and give you money to fix it just to annoy you
You're obviously an idiot. This is already after I've fixed their problem and they manage to break the damn thing again and expect me to pay for it...

How would you feel if you built someone a computer and then 3 months later they came back to you because they accidently tipped it over and killed the hard drive in it but just tell you "oh well it just quit on me, I don' tknow what happened to it"...

It's very frustrating and it really bothers me.

Anyone had problems with their creative mp3 player?

I don't even know what kind of hard drives they put in those things? I'd imagine toshiba's as well? Perhaps hitachi's?

Yep I sent mine in for repair, not because I dropped it though, even if it worked fine after I dropped it. The headphone jack came loose. The sounds turns on and off intermittently with the smallest movement of the jack.
Additionally, it refuses to connect to my computer.
