if you break a capacitor off of a motherboard, can you just replace it?

i am assuming that if somehow i break a cap on a motherboard, i could just replace it with one of the same spec?

i would think that if you wer really goodwith the soldering iron you could, but i don't know. HEat may damage the PCB and embedded traces in it.

Isn't there some kind of "cold" solder? Maybe a conductive glue would work. You're probably only going to get one shot at it any way you try it.

more than likely you will have to use a soldering iron anyhow if the pin is broken off in the board.
