...and you win and request the total from the seller, must you pay whatever amount they demand?

In my desperate attempt to get a calc to replace my stolen one that won't cost me an arm and a leg and to do it before bed, I won one for $32 that had no shipping info listed and from a buyer with 87% positive feedback. I should've calmed down and waiting till morning. I requested the total since the shipping price wasn't listed but I'm sure it'll be unreasonable.
I'll just swallow the loss and take the neg. However, if the shipping price is reasonable, I could chance it and hope my situation doesn't turn out like some of his other negatives.
I wasn't. It was my own fault. I've been searching for awhile now and I was determined to just get it over with and get one before bed. I was amazed that one was only going for $20 with only 14 minutes to go. I just bid and then went upstairs to do some stuff and came back and saw I won. I was just hasty.Originally posted by: CheapArse

So the guy already has negatives from the same type of thing and you still bid? What were you thinking?

I don't want to buy it from the forum guy and take the negative because I'm afraid he'll rip me off on shipping, I'd be doing it because of his terrible feedback that I was too hasty to look into. The last time he sold something was last June, and he has at least seven negative feedbacks where the buyers say they paid and he never responded to emails and either never sent the item or did MONTHS later.Originally posted by: Eli

You haven't even gotten the total yet, how do you know he's going to shaft you?
If you don't want the negative, just fscking pay for the auction!!! :Q WTF?
You would rather spend 35$ and take the negative than spend 45 or 50$ and not? I seriously doubt he's going to gouge you on shipping.
Most people don't include a shipping price because they're going to calculate it based on your zipcode.

Looking at his feedback, none of the people that left him negatives received negatives...this might go OK for you.

Again, it was my own stupid fault, but I'd definitely be risking my money by paying this guy.
I'm sitting here worrying about someone with a 96% rating and you go and bid on someone's auction with 87%? That's pretty daring (and stupid) of you ... especially since the guy didn't list a shipping amount.Originally posted by: archcommus

Why don't you suck it up and pay him the "extra" ammount, just to keep YOUR feedback positive?
He could charge you 3.85 for shipping. At least wait until he responds.

So you think I should risk paying and not ever getting the product or getting it after the school year has already ended?Originally posted by: Eli

While certainly terrible, a bad feedback score is absolutely no excuse for backing out of an auction you won......Originally posted by: CheapArse

He really should post the link to the auction b/c if you look at the sellers feedback...the seller is notroious for sending stuff late and/or not sending anything at all after payment is received.

Right, I don't feel it's right to back out either, but his feedback may certainly warrant it.Originally posted by: Eli
