Yeah I'd keep working, but I'd have to invest most of that money such that it would make more money. And then I'd become the nature photographer I'd really like to be and backpack the Rockies all day.

if we are talking after taxes, 1 million is quite a bit actually. say you make 70k a year, not bad, but after taxes thats like 50k a year. so 1 million is like making 70k a year for 20 years. how is that not very much?

do I have just 1 million in cash? or do I have 1 million a year?

if the former, I would definitely still work same hours, etc...paycheck will just be all spending money.

if the latter, then I might consider quitting.

yeah...but I would have NO debt, and a BIG house paid for, and I'd put about 100k in mutual funds :)

no more than 1 million dollars I would keep working my current jobs which are fun (fishing, running parasail boats) and just use the million to try to enjoy my life much better. Would probably just mean no hmortgage payment for the rest of my life and a piece or 2 of rental property as my retirement fun. This way I can live my dream of not "growing up" and getting some boring ass job that I thought I would always have to do because of the pay and benifits I would require with a family.

I always thought I would. However after working more than a few years after college, I think I up for taking some time off. If I had a million bucks, I think I would go back to college and maybe get a more 'fun' degree like history or philosphy or something of that nature.
I wouldn't mind working a 'fun' job, but if I had cash like that I wouldn't worry about gridning it at a tough job.
