If you are registered, can MS look up your CD key for you?

I think you could if you copied down the # they gave you after you registered.
Or by registered do you mean the Office XP/2003 product activation register? That would be a lot easier I'd think.

I know this doesn't help now. But for future reference, always write the number ON the cd with a magic market. Those cases always do a good job of disappear.

Before you say there's no room on the CD to write, copy the CD to a blank one and put the original in the closet. That way when you scratch it all up (you will) you can just go back and copy the original again.

Can't you grap the CD key from the registry? I think there's software that will do it for you and give you all of your keys..

I can boot into the old OS and run any of the office programs.
Is there a way to get the Key from there?

Call up MS, say you lost it, and they'll give you a new one. I've done it twice with Windows CDs.

I thought about that, but I can't find a number for them that does not requir you to enter the product key.

I think I've had to many beers, I just realized that is full of typos. Magic market? wtf is that anyway?

They gave a a CD key, but my disc is apparently scratched.
They said they have discontinued Office 2000, so they can not send me a replacemnt disc!
