you might want to check this out

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/nat...plans-to-have-her-baby-in-an-art-gallery.html

Marni Kotak, who is 36 and eight months pregnant, is planning to go through the birth of her first child in front of an audience in an art gallery in the Bushwick neighborhood. The gallery has installed a shower and a refrigerator and already has about 15 people signed up to watch.

Please Note: for the exhibit, Microscope will extend our regular hours to 7 days a week from 11am-6pm until the birth has occurred.

I've already watched documentaries of mothers giving birth and it was nothing I'd want to see again, videotaped or live. D:

I'll be taking a piss into jar at the art gallery across the street for half the price. Come watch me instead. Multiple showing available.

I've seen both my kids born. Not for the squeamish.
Personally I believe that birthing is a kind of private affair. But whatever trips your trigger.

Kotak will move onto another performance titled "Raising Baby X" in which she "re-contextualizes the everyday act of raising a child into a work of performance art..."

Holy shit. I never thought people actually said this kind of crap.

Doing this during flu season is brilliant. I didn't see anything stating this would be happening behind glass, though I hope they just left that part out.

I think they're just doing like Gallagher did and giving the front row some plastic for cover.

I didn't actually watch my children being born. I was in the room, holding my wife's hand and giving her support, but I did not look, especially as the first one was by c-section.

Considering how many people were in the room when I gave birth - husband, doctors, nurses, orderlies, aides, and god knows who else - I may as well have charged admission.

I didn't watch. I was too busy pushing the little devils out. Ick.
