So would you? Remember the answer assumes no trouble for you whatsoever. Just an anonymous call from you from a phone booth and you are done.

Vote away!

I don't think anybody could despise Bush more then I do but I would still report anybody who I considered to be a real threat to him.

I can think of very few people who I would not make an effort to save.

Say Hilter, Saddam, Osama etc.

As much as I dislike everything Bush is and stands for, I'd have to try to stop the plot for a number of reasons. Not doing so would violate the principle that you don't stop evil by becoming or enabling the evil you seek to destroy. Beyond Bush (or Cheney) the crime would be against the nation, not them.

Besides, if we can impeach Bush AND Cheney, I'd rather see them alive to stand trial for their crimes. I think they'd both consider the humiliation worse than death, itself.

< sarcasm >

Maybe we could have it both ways by reporting the plot to Alberto Gonzales. He's so completely inept that he'd probably boot the job of stopping it.

I don't want Bush dead, just totally discredited and run out of office, maybe stood up in front of the international war crimes tribunal at the Hague. And I definitely don't want Dick (I never said that) Cheney in the oval office, not even for a chat...

I'd rat out any murder conspiracy I considered credible, no matter who it was directed towards. Well, maybe not OBL, but that's a more remote possibility than sighting sasquatch in my backyard...

Ditto.
I'm mad, but not an asshole.

Bush is a horrible president because of the people and ideas surrounding him. We need to remember this because Bush can no longer be elected, but those people and ideas that surround him can very well find their way into another administration.

Yes, no point having a martyr made out of that idiot. Let him be judged on the debacle that is his presidency.

Indeed, if he were murdered people might start to overlook his flaws and idolize him or something stupid like that. At this point, with a stalemated congress, he is less dangerous left alive than he would be dead. If you were going to invoke time travel, it would be better to go further back and ensure a fair election and prevent the debacle that occured with Florida's purge list changing the outcome of the election. Violence is usually counterproductive, unless one's objective is to sell weapons while distracting people from something else.

If he is to be killed, it must be by his own hand. Perhaps he'll try to wash and disinfect his floors with a mixture of bleach and ammonia, or accidentally slip and fall down an elevator shaft onto some bullets. Yet it would be most ironic if he died from some environmental hazard he had a hand in creating, like mercury poisoning.

I would hate to learn of such inofrmation. I couldn't live with myself if I didn't report it which would leave me no alternative other than to shoot myself.

I'd love to hear the comments from the "Yes (except for Bush)" voters.

We're a country of laws. We settle our differences at the ballot box. That may be a bit naive to say, but we don't determine our leadership at the barrel of a gun.

So to the (so far) 11 people... care to explain your position?

I see... so when someone kills YOUR president (yes, a knock to the 'Bush isn't MY president' folks)... It's all good? Voting from the rooftops isn't voting. Resorting to murder because your guy lost isn't how we do things here.

Bud, I cant think of a polite way to say this, so I'll just keep it simple.
You are really not thinking this through.

The country we have came about through violence. We kept it through violence. We have helped other countries keep themselves in place with violence.
When it really matters, violence is the ultimate solution to most social problems.
"The supreme authority from which all other authority is derived."

We as humans and especially Americans are not even close to being evolved and enlightened enough that mere words can solve all are problems.
In fact talking has only shown just how inept our leaders are in everything except violence.
And this most recent war has shown they cant even do that properly anymore.
We really need another Teddy Roosevelt. Someone who understands the proper use of violence to achieve a quick and efficient solution.

I would like it very much if we could move on and become enlightened and make everything work without using force, but thats a long way off.

I could. That said, I see no purpose to having the guy die at this stage in the game.

On the other hand, pay phones are like, what, 75 cents now? Think the Secret Service would accept a collect call?

The man is a horrible president and a text book example of incompetence and deceit - but I don't feel that warrants his death.

Letting the president get murdered would not be a step towards an improved democratic process.

As for the 11 that would let it happen, I don't think they've really considered the consequences (president Cheney).
