Do you play music from your home country? Do your friends hassle you about it?

I'm thinking more along the lines of folky stuff, but rock/pop/whatever goes.

Yeah I'm about 180 years from when my ancestors got off the boat. They left Germany for a reason, it sucked, no point in bringing it back.

We've been here for at least 350 years or so. (fucking Mayflower certificate, bitches! eat that!)

.....So I have no fucking clue what I am.

I guess technically I'm no more than 3rd gen from at least 1 grandparent, but can't say there has not been much of anything carried over.

I'm a first generation immigrant, and I still play Colombian music. I love it, but I also like tons of American and European music.

This is some good typical Colombian music:

Cumbia Colombiana

Vallenato Colombiano

My friends love it. I'm sure you guys will love too if you give it a listen... and if you understand the lyrics.

I guess I'd be considered a second generation immigrant? (parents came down to set up their company, and I'm born there, as a result)

Basically, I'm of Indian background, and if I have non-Indian people around me, I'll tend to not play Bollywood music, because actually I'm not very much in contact with the Bollywood culture, as a result of not having a TV. Having said that, if I like some music, I'll play it, unless otherwise told so, whether it be Indian music or EDM (which I'm into) or hiphop/RnB (which I'll listen to, but won't change it just because it's cool to hate on it).

I play music from Taiwan, but the old stuff, not what passes for music these days. Fucking monkeys can sing better than today's "Singers"

A large portion of my family was already here...waiting to kill your Mayflowers...

Go to a pow-wow in your area. Ours IS the original American Music...😀

I'm second generation, and listen to whatever music I like. My tastes are pretty diverse, and I don't listen to any particular genre over another.

My SO is from Tokyo, only been here 8 years, but doesn't really listen to the music. I love to blare jpop and watch her get annoyed...plus, I secretly love jpop.......

My Dad's parents can trace their lineage back to the Revolutionary War in this country. My Grandmother is a DAR in fact.

My Mom's parents came to this country from Sweden in the late 1800s.
