If you are a backup goalie for a NHL team...

and that NHL team wins the Stanley Cup... Do you get a Stanley Cup ring?

For example, we havent seen New Jersey use their backup goalie all playoffs... If the Devils win the Cup, does he get a ring? Or do you have to play a minimal number of games in the playoffs to get a ring?

If I remember correctly, you do have to play a minimal number of games in order to get a ring.

i think he gets the ring. hes still a part of the team's active playoff roster. whether or not it looks like it, hes still helping the "team"

Mitch Richmond got a ring w/ the Lakers last year and he hardly played at all in the playoffs.

Yes, all active players get a ring and their name on the cup. Actually, NJ's backup goalie played these playoffs against Boston when they lit Brodeur up for 5 goals and got him pulled for the second time this year. :)

Good ole Corey Schwab...I wonder if he get's sick of of always sitting all the time. The amount of games Brodeur plays, he might as well not even be there.

Anywho...this is all a moot point since Anaheim will win! ;)

It just amazes me how precisely so many people follow sports....I mean, not only actually naming people that play on a specific team, in a specific sport, but know HOW MANY games they have played this season! Amazing, really.

I guess it's not so different to my "hobbies" if you will. I can tell you who raises/sells champion Blood Pythons in South Texas. Who sells the purest strain of Guyana Boas (BCC) as well. Oh well. Never mind. I understand now. :)

I believe as long as hes on the roster hes fine with getting a ring, I cant remember I think they were saying one night with basketball you have to have your final roster and cant edit it but when players like C Web go down Sacrmento cant sign anyone thats a free agent or etc.... but oh well :) Yes he shall get a nice bling bling ring

That is a cool hobby dude. I remembe rwatching a show about "super" something or other (some kind of constrictor (sp?) that is quite rare and this one breeder had like 7 or 8 from one batch and the people at the show were going crazy. I'd love to start that hobby but that is too rich for my blood and I think I would go crazy buying all the different & rare kinds of snakes.

Cheers,
Aquaman

Heh, I have cheap snakes. Very common ones, actually. Allthough, my Brazilain Rainbow Boa (ECC..Epicrates Chincira Chincira) is a nice looking female. Females are worth more than males, typically, when it comes to snakes, b/c they are "breedable." Most (not all, though) of the "good genes" come from the female in breeding snakes.

My female might be worth $500-$600 to someone who knows what it is...that's about it though.

Other than that, I have a runt of a Royal Python ("Ball" Python in pet store terminology) he's special to me b/c he was my first. And I have one bigass Columbian Boa Constrictor (BCI..Boa Constrictor Emperator). Eight feet long, about 25 pounds of solid muscle. She should be eating baby rabbits at this point, but that's very expensive. She eats one Jumbo Rat (think "Willard") every two weeks. :)
