if you're can play in the major leagues, why bother fighting to go down to play in the minor leagues?

Is this seriously a big issue for you?

Yes, I cry myself to sleep every night thinking about it.

False guise of equality. If it were really equal, there would be only one professional league for both genders.

And the women wouldn't be in them cause they suck at sports...

Exactly my point. There are women leagues out there...now they want to start playing in the mens leagues. If thats allowed, then either a) men can play in the womens leagues too or b) there is just one league and they have to beat out the men equally.

In pretty much every sport, it's acknowledged that men are better than women. A woman however can come up to the level of a man, but it's stupid for a guy to stoop to the woman's level. Sure, you can argue that a below-average skilled man should be able to join and compete with them, but I think that's just silly. I'm happy seeing only female waitresses when I go to Hooters, so I'm fine seeing womens only leagues as well.

Not all sports, but obviously yes. But if they don't want to play in seperate leagues from men, then that is the only other fair and logical setup possible. Deeko is correct in that its not equal right now.

Because that would be sexist! of course.

All we are saying by letting women play in mens sports is that the VERY BEST women MAY be able to compete with men. by not allowing men to compete with women, they are saying that even the WORST men are still better than most women at the sport.

Could you imagine Tiger on the LPGA tour? hehe

Some women strive to play with the men, or are good enough to do so, because guys are better (and they know it). Let's keep it that way. :p

i am so kidding, it hurts. ouch

I guy actually won a court case against hooters cause he wanted to work for them... This is really just recent too. I don't agree with a guy working at hooters and I won't go if that's the case.

In what sport has this recently become an issue?

Just like in the military, the JOB requires a certain level of capability. It is independent of gender. If a woman can hit a 400 foot home run, fine, put her in the majors, who cares? But if she can't, then she provides no benefit to the team. Actually my analogy doesn't work, because the military does dumb down their standards for women to qualify at the same level as a man. So uhh...lets not do that in professional sports.

As I stated in another thread: "Because we are a society of double standards masked behind equality."

If men could play on the women's tour, David Duval's career wouldn't be in the toilet right now.

Heck if I was Andy Roddick I'd play on the womens tour. Not like he'll ever beat Federer.

Mickleson could have joined the womens LGPA tour and picked up his majors long ago too.

But there is no money in most womens sports because the suck. Lack of money balances out their lack of skill.

From what I heard, they said there's available jobs for him at Hooters (ie: Chef, cleaning crew) so they didn't necessarily have to make him a waitress. But yeah, I don't particularily care to frequent a Hooters that had male waitresses.

The problem with your argument is that you make the presumption that sports women are not generally a match and are below men's level. So explain, to me, what sense it would make to dumb down the sex that you believe to be superior to women in sports by sending some of them to women's leagues?

If you're saying that there are men just as inferior in the sports as you believe women to be, then your entire argument loses ground. For then there's no discrimination along the gender line of males and females in sports performance. Maybe you should re-examine your sexist views!
