Politicians don't want there to be a price on human organs, as they are afraid putting a price on human body parts would create a market for them making you as a person, a comodity to be bought and sold. While some may argue this is already happening, politicians will tell you legalizing the sale of kidneys and such would lead to a rampant degree of this. This COULD translate into people killing for body parts.

"Chop Shop" Now serial killers have even more reasons to kill people.

I think it has to do with moral considerations. "You need a body part that I can spare...now I can give it to you if you have enough money. If not, you die"
Also, I'm sure it would start some kind of organ harvesting trade.

Is that not what goes on when you need some "life saving" operation/medicine that isn't covered by your insurance or by your own assets?
Medical Professional: You need X and we'll do it for $, or insurance, or oral sex.
You: I don't have $ or insurance and I don't give good oral sex.
Medical Preofessional: Here's a card for the funeral home down the street. I hear they're really good.
I dunno, I think I should be able to sell myself. Whores should be able to do what they do too, but we have laws against that also. "It's my body, I can do what I want!" doesn't fly very far in a courtroom.
