<< In a word...no. I believe that if we are careful and tread lightly, a greater good can be accomplished without the need for more bloodshed. Remember there are 2 sides to every story and we as a world need to consider that fact more in dealing with each other.
I am willing to make whatever sacrifices are necessary to promote peace. If we truely want to win against terrorism, we can't run in shooting, because that will only escalate their cause. Americans have been blessed with much more freedom and resourses than the rest of the world, and often at the cost of the rest of the world. I think we owe it to ourselves and everybody else to promote peace and rethink our fundamental foreign policy. We have the backing of NATO and the EU so it is conceivably possible for this event to usher in a new era of increased understanding on a global scale.
Just something to think about. >>
Ok; let's say that we do negotiate a PEACE between TERRORISTS. Then they attack again? We will again be unprepared because we assume we are at peace with them. What do we do then? Try to make more peace? These are terrorists, not countries. They don't want to negotiate. Attacking them is the only way to go.
