Duron 800
MSI K7T Pro2A
IBM 75GXP(pick a size)
256MB of RAM(its cheap now)
GeForce 2 GTS(looking better than a 3dfx card right now)
SB Live(pick one, mp3, gamer, etc)
Big ass case with 300wt PS(addtronics is good)
Klipsch Promedia speakers
10X DVD drive
Plextor burner
CD-Rom of your prefrence(some people like the kenwoods some dont)

Thats about it, if you go cheap on some things you may want to go with a T-bird instead of a duron, but there isnt that much differnce in performance and the duron would overclock better.

I've always prefered Western Digital drives. But, I've noticed most people here use IBM drives. Why does everyone go with IBM?

Now kids quit fighting!!

What I want is a gaming machine... video out the as* or whatever it will take to make it scream!!

I'm looking at 1.1GHz AMD
GeForce 2 Pro
at least 256MB RAM (maybe 256 DDRAM when the price drops)
I don't need huge amounts of HDD (20G should do)
CD-RW/DVD (combo or seperate)

According to Mr. Need-A-Job of Apple, they aren't colors, they are "flavors". Geesh people get it right here...

At least Apple has solved the OS version thing by just calling the new OS version "X". Next out from Microsoft: Windows X - The neXt generation of memory eating software!

That could be useful for things like digital cameras and such that would be taken off frequently, but depending on the price and availbility of cases, it'd be just as easy to leave the cord dangling around the corner. Most things, you attach and leave, like modems.
