if time travel were possible, then no, because if you change the past then those people may not exist in the future so they couldn't come back and change the past. paradox

butterfly effect

if you're in someone's way and cause them to walk 2" to the right off their intended path, then you could change their future and thus everyone's around him.

chain reaction.

you said overrun by future terrorists. that would change the past, our present. Not exactly the proper thing to do. Now if they went into the future then they could change something.

No, because observing a thing changes it.

stephen hawking offers a simple, possible explanation for the paradox in A brief histoy of Time. Give it a read, its worth the read anyway.

School field trip? who knows? that would be pretty cool to take school field trips to the past if time travel were ever a reality

Schroedingers cat?

The cat is both dead and alive at the same time... until we observe it, and then it is one or the other, hence observing changes..

quantum indeterminacy

If you hadn't observe the cat, would it be dead? etc bla bla
