This a definity a YMMV deal. Strike two here.

You guys trying by phone are making a mistake though. Business like this is always better face to face with wallet in your hand.

Damn, that sucks man. Hope you get in the deal soon. Probably when it is in stock, there will be none left unless you preorder it. The manager that handle my order was pretty cool. She was like, go ahead, if it states on all PNY graphic card, then that's cool with her. She never told me that it was only for in stock item since the ad never stated in stock only.

Edit: since i was near one i stopped at BB (i know i was at compusa but i had to get some rewards points) and got FarCry so ill have something to really push this card. my FX5600 should cower in fear tonight.

Edit 2: thx for the info rollo.

Happy to help. The GT is a good deal at $400, even w/o this IMO.

yeah it is looking to be the better buy, i changed my mind about PS3.0. now i say bring it on. i cancelled my order with gateway on the XTPE for a BFG6800GT OC at BB and would have been happy with that. then the compusa deal panned out and i had to cancel yet again. i think im on my fifth order this summer. i think with the money ive saved by cruising these forums ill grab a new A64 system.

Will one of you that bought this card mind telling me what came with it (seeing that it's a retail product). Is there some kind of bundle. At this price I am definately interested in buying sooner that I wanted to. I was waiting on PCI-E for AMD 939 and for the real winner to come out on top (ATI / Nvidia). I was leaning towards ATI with the better PS 2.0 performance but at these prices I may want to go Nvidia.

Also... does anyone know what kind of overclock speeds users are getting out of the Utlra cards at 400 MHz?

Thank you!

Thats what im doing. Im gonna wait on PCI-E for my 939 machine. I figure that by that time the showdown will be over and prices would settle down.

I wanted to wait until prices go down, but $280 for a 6800 GT that can do Ultra speed can't be passed up. The price right now is what the price will be in like 8 month. Might as well get it now and sell my 5900nu for a good price otherwise it'll go for like $100 or less in 8 months.

Not too crazy about pny cards. My cousin bought a pny fx5200 card from best buy and it looked like it was used before. There was dust all over the card and the connectors looked used. May have been an isolated case, but im staying away from pny.

Right now, asus, bfg, and evga are the only makers of the nvidia cards that i am willing to buy from.

Your cousin probably bought a returned item that Best Buy resealed and try to pass it as new. They do that a lot. One time, I returned a video card that had a distinct mark on the box. A couple of days later, I saw the same box resealed and sold as new.

Any news on the bundle with these cards and overclock on any (not just PNY) stock 6800 Ultra (400 MHz) card?

Beware eVGA and their 2D quality. I owned 2 5900nu from eVGA and both were slightly blurry compared to my current BFG 5900U. Same monitor. I dont know if eVGA changed with the new gen, but old habits seem to die hard. I will be steering clear of eVGA until I see evidence that they have improved the quality of their 2D.

Well I think the word is out. I went to two CompUSAs today and got two bogus excuses on why I couldnt pre-order and or they wouldnt honor the advertisement.

I did however get both managers backed into a corner where they admitted if I come in and the card is on the shelf that I can have it at the discounted price. I just have a feeling those cards arent going to show up until Monday now.
