omfg!!! does pny make good cards???

PNY makes excellent cards IMHO, lifetime warranty
and made in the USA. I have been using them since
Geforce 3, stable and great overclockers.

LifeTime warrenty is a lie, its lifetime of product. If you call their customer suckass, they call you a liar if you dont have the reciept and you want to RMA it. the only reason to chose them is price

never had a problem here, I returned a 4200 and got a replacement in less than a week.
I must have gotten lucky huh?

I'd try what the evidently successful buyer@FW did, only over the phone. Call and get a sales rep then see if they will allow you to pre-order the GT with the discount applied, worst that can happen is they say "no can do" Mention you live far away to see if that softens 'em up a bit ;)

No he would'nt let me order a any of these products because he said it's not a stock item yet. He said try back the 1st of July when it's slated to be released to CUSA.:(

If these guys are getting thier order in they have a more ammeable manager than I got so go try today as YMMV according to the success of the fatwallet guy. But I think I'll wait to try again on the first.

Anyway if anyone wants a FX5900se for $150 they had plenty.
Thanks Zebo  We have another YMMV hot deal, but hey worth a dice roll :gift:

I think that's your answer Schadenfroh, If they will let you pre-order it should apply the 30% off automatically. The only question left is, will they let you pre-order with the discount?

HOLY HOT DAMN

i got a 6800GT for a grand total of $303.09

scan on the way.

PNY customer service does suck. i had to deal with them about a GF4 Ti4600 and got some lawyer in cali that had NO idea who PNY was and was mad as hell about people consantly calling him about something he has no knowledge about. and i tried the number three times. poor guy.

Scan coming as soon as i can host it,
Y.A.F.

Edit: Gateway who? ATi what?
i dont HAVE the card, its just order and ready for store pickup whenever it arrives. no matter when that is i still have it for 303.09.

^^^^^^^^^^^^

I got mine for $296.80. The XT is going on Ebay, hopefully I can get the $440 I spent on it. It's definitely faster (I'll do some testing when I get the GT), but its not 50% faster.

ETA instore is June 2.

i just waltzed in and asked someone at the customer service desk. they pulled it up on their computer. it was listed for 399.99 AND 319.99. i thought for a minute i was only going to get it for 320, then the guy helping me noticed the price, asked a co-worker who plugged in 399.99-30%=279.99. they then wrote up a prepaid slip and printed out a receipt when i paid with my debit card. they gave me a business card with the salesmans name (who happened to be the stores gaming expert according to his tag) and said that he'd be calling me about thursday or friday, or for me to call him. very easy transaction i must say.

Help any? scan still on the way... imagestation ok?,

Why can some people pre-order yet others cant?

What do you think the chances of me going into Compusa instead of calling them and being able to pre-order?

Went to my local CompUSA to check this deal out. The answer I got after talking to the manager was that they can't set up a preorder on something they don't already have on-order, but that the 30% off can be applied to items they have on-order but not necessarily on-hand. I got the phone number and I'm gonna call back until they'll let me preorder. There's just no way I can pass up a 6800 GT for around a hundred below MSRP when most places are selling them above it.

Yeah, I was also able to preorder the 6800 GT. Actually, they let me order 2 of them. That's so cool. I told them I wanted 10, but they told me they weren't sure how many will come, so I only ordered 2. Awesome deal! No tax were I live, so only $279.99 each.

Ugh, my tax is almost 10% :( It would be around $305, still not bad at all. Im going to go down and see if they will let me order one, if they do, this X800 Pro is going up for sale.

Now, if I could just find a place selling it for that up here in Canadian dollars. :D
Good find, I'd be interested in seeing how many people actually get 6800Us out of this deal.
Rollo, are you taking a trip to CUSA tomorrow?

More or less what I did. They did bring it up as $399, then I showed them the ad. At first the manager said that it doesn't cover the card because its a "verto" brand, but then I showed him the made by pny part.

I just got off the phone, and they couldn't find it in their listing or anything.

The site is now saying that all of them (NU, GT, and Ultra) are coming soon.

It looks like a hit or miss type of thing. They cant possibly be making any money off of this, or at least not much. My guess is corporate will pull the plug tomorrow when they open up, and send out a mass storewide email saying to not sell it at that price.

But then they would have a lot of angery customers.. I do hope they continue to sell it at the prices they've advertised. I should have went down there today, before they opened, but Ill try to tomorrow.
