If this doesn't prove Trump is unhinged I don't know what will!

How is that far fetched? Venezuela has all but collapsed. Death squads and all.
From the Neocon perspective of playing world police, it makes perfect sense, no?

Now - I understand we would only bring further death and destruction, but that's cause I learned the lesson of Iraq. We all know Trump is too ignorant to learn that. But so are many others. What should happen is South America finds a way to help them, and if that involves us providing the necessary resources to see it done, then I might approve our "action". So long as we're not playing police or making it worse.

The real question is who will bail them out first, in order to get access to all that heavy Orinoco crude? China, or the US? My money's on China...they've become experts in the art of nation-building without requiring any war effort (see what they're already doing in Africa and South America.)

It's not like it hasn't been considered before by other administrations about Venezuela and other countries. We don't usually know about it but with Trump and his big mouth and leaks in his admin and detailed analysis by MSM since it is related to Trump, everyone finds out everything that is going on with them. I'm not condoning an invasion - just saying. The Venezuelan people need help.

https://venezuelanalysis.com/news/12885
Caracas, January 16, 2016 (venezuelanalysis.com) – Outgoing US President Barack Obama renewed a controversial executive order Friday that designates Venezuela as an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to national security.

In one of his last acts as president, Obama stated that he had decided to extend the executive order given that Venezuela’s situation had “not improved” since the decree was first renewed last March.

In particular he cited the Venezuelan government’s alleged “erosion of human rights guarantees, persecution of political opponents, curtailment of press freedoms, use of violence and human rights violations and abuses in response to anti-government protests, and arbitrary arrest and detention of anti-government protestors, as well as the exacerbating presence of significant government corruption,” as the reasons for the renewal.

Initially approved in March 2015, the Executive Order declares a “national emergency” with regards to Venezuela and was accompanied by US sanctions against several Venezuelan officials. The move was immediately met with protest from the Maduro administration in Venezuela and its allies in Latin America, while over a million Venezuelans also signed a public petition calling on Obama to repeal the order.

I'm quite sure it wasn't the first time it was brought up as a proposal or idea by a President as a possible option.

The numerous Presidents including ( possible moreso ) Obama have all been meddling there for quite some time in an attempt to overthrow their government.

I don't think it is a good option myself and I don't think it is even being considered at this point.

Wouldn't surprise me if he does go in. That bastard socialist pos leader of Venezuela and all his cronies need to be locked up for what they have done.

Because invading only Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria makes sense and would not be considered unhinged

Edit: oh wait, only unhinged Trump didn’t invade Venezuela

China already did and will do more. Once again, China is playing the long smart game of chess leaving the US to play our tiddly winks.

China, by proxy, essentially owns the Panama Canal now. They control the primary port, and this is essentially an end-around of treaty that is supposed to keep the canal neutral, but whatever.

If Trump feels the need for another distraction vis a vis his obvious ties with Putin and all other things Russia related, then sure, he'll do it or he will at the very least create out of thin air a major crisis like he did with the DPRK.

This guy knows he's got the Repub Party in his back pocket and only because he has the base of the party in his grip, which fits very neatly with his dictatorial style of "leadership". Ergo, there are no bounds restricting his desire to personally direct foreign policy, a desire that has proven to be damaging to our relationships with our close allies and aggravatingly so, his penchant for admiring dictators and wishing out loud his aspiration for implementing the same kind of "governance" in the nation he now leads. Have a chat with his former SecState Tillerson for confirmation.

In addition, do recall those numerous derisive accusations from the right about Obama being a dictator, yet with Trump obviously attempting to force this very style of leadership on our nation there's not a single peep from the right regarding Trump's obvious and blatant attempts at doing precisely this. Hypocrisy again rearing its ugly head from the "Party of Law and Order".
