If they're really that good (Enermax, PC P&C, Sparkle), then how come...

...none of their power supplies approved by AMD for the 1.4 GHZ Athlon are rated for less than 350W, unlike some other brands, like Aopen, Seasonic, AG1, Delta, and Enhance, which have 300W supplies approved for the 1.4 GHz?

Enermaxes latest PSus haven't been listed on the site

Sparkle make the AOPEN power supplies which is probably a good indicator of how slowly AMD update that sheet

Well, you really dont want to run a 1.4GHz with a mere 300Ws anyway.

I was just wondering if my Sparkle 300watt power supply can handle a 1.2ghz Tbird...?? I have 2 harddrives, 2 CD drives(CDRW/DVD), two case fans, and the usual.....vidcard, NIC, soundcard, and a MPEG decoder(DXR2)...and currently a 850mhz Tbird being powered by the sparkle.

You can go as high as 1.33 Ghz at least and will still be able to add some more fans and maybe even another HDD/CD-Rom. But for a 1.4Ghz you definitely need the 350 W. A lot of people don't realize this but the thing to look for in a PSU is the total power of the +3.3V and +5.0V. If you have to run a 1.4Ghz you will need at least 200W of this 3.0 + 5.0 volts. And regular, non branded ,or unpopular 300W PSU usually comes only between 120-170W. Which is only barely enough to run a 1.4Ghz.
