this will be locked for lack of OP comment, but it doesn't matter how many Military Personal repeat that sentiment. It is simply untrue and not logical.

Congress voted to destroy Iraq's imminent threat of WMD's, not occupy the country for half a decade.

I have some family in various branches of the military, all have been stationed to Iraq. Their logic on "completing the mission" is mind boggingly backwards.

Doesn't matter if I served. The Soldiers job is to follow orders, not to choose what he/she will support or not support. When the People and/or Government says the mission is over, it's over.

As touchy feely as this is, these soldiers have to realize that they are instruments of the government. The government decides what their mission is. Ppl in a country however are neither the government nor do they have the sameobligations as an government does, hence the whole situation cant be this black and white as these soldiers demand.

Ppl can very well support the troops and be against the war, they can even support the troops, be against the war now even though the supported it in the beginning. Ppl can change their views fast (faster then a government) upon new/broader information. A government cannopt say one thing one day and turn 180 the other even if the government does now think the war is/was wrong. They started it they are in it and cannot just leave immediately - ppl can do that with theit opinions.

The soldiers are very young and might not realize (or may not want to) the many shades of life and reality (yet).
