If there were no oil in the middle east...

...would we still attack Iraq? Would we have any reason to go against Iran after that? If all of the oil wells in the middle east suddenly went dry tomorrow, would we be interested in conquering them anymore?
 
Whether or not there is oil, I think the U.N. resolutions should be enforced. But maybe there would be more focus on NK?
 
If there wasn't oil in Kuwait Sadaam wouldn't have invaded it and started the whole thing. So I guess the answer is no.
 
The world would not be the same and the Middle East would be totally different then it is now. We would also be driving some kind of alternate energy cars by now.
 
Look at the rest of africa.
As much or more of a mess then the middle east, but for the most part, nobody gives a damn.
 
This topic doesn't need a poll. Official US policy dating back to Eisenhower acknowledges the strategic value of the Middle East. Once the oil reserves became more evident the necessity of having significant influence in the region further increased.
 
I'd say we would just ignore them, but not because of what you think. I think they would just become some more poor pissed off people who have no way to affect us, so why should we care. They are able to do the things they do because they have money from oil. Not the common people, but people like Saddam and bin Laden have boatloads of money from oil so they can finance their stupidity. If there was no oil, there would be no money, and bin Laden and Saddam would be stuck roasting goats over an open fire and no one would care what they thought, said, or did.
 
If my generation dosent stop these dip shzts,then yours will have to.Their whole intent is to kill americans.Thats all they want to do.They do not want to know you.They do not want to hang with you.They want to kill you/your mother/father/sister/ect.Black~white it wont matter.
