... commodities?

Imagine the government gets proof there is just one single vampire on Earth, will it begin to regulate the sale and manufacture of coffins in following terms:

The coffin cannot be load more than one time aka ensuring the coffin is locked forever.
The sale of each coffin must be recorded and regulated and strictly monitored.
Drones and agents will consistently monitor the usage of such coffins.
Everytime someone dies, there shall be a government agent monitoring the funeral to make sure the dead stays dead.

Spectrum scans of all civilians to ensure they do not have coffins in their homes or estates.

Unused coffins must be reported upon strictly and be destroyed in a vast elaborate expensive bureaucratic process.

Tools and materials to manufacture coffins again have to be regulated since any moron and especially that one vampire can just stick blocks of wood together to make his coffin.

Trees are too strictly regulated and watched over by government agents since they can be used by that Vampire to make his coffin.

Any person carrying a coffin be required to prove he is not a vampire by spraying of holy water on his skin and be required to stand still for a routine 12 hour period exposure to daylight.

I can go on and go on. Heck they might even ban burying dead people and ensure cremation of the same.

But the basic point is this:

Will the government be so stupid that if they confirm the existence of one single vampire on all of planet earth, then coffins will become highly regulated or potentially illegal objects of wood or metal?

Coffins don't kill people, undead people kill people.

You'll have to pry the coffin out of my cold, undead hands.

but the undead need coffins right?

Remember this is a vampire and not a zombie infestation. :\

I agree that discrimination against the differently alive must not be tolerated, so perhaps we do need a government program to provide plasma and coffins to the nosferatu.

There are already too many coffins out there.

If you increase regulation you'll just be keeping them out of the good guy's hands.

More plausible is garlic braids will be mandatory accessories to living spaces as per new building codes, and inspectors would be hired to routinely ensure the premises have enough GPSF (garlic per square foot) to be considered legal

Nah it'll probably go the other way around and they'll be a protected class and you'll end up having to show your drivers license to buy garlic at Target.

also, creating secure coffins like that would violate human rights and/or constitutional rights.

You can't morally imprison the indifferently alive for eternity in that box. That's torture.

Is this about that incident in that little town near Castle Rock? If so, some men in dark suits will be by shortly to, uhh, interview you.
