If there are to be any changes in American culture...

If there is to be any changes to American culture, What would you like to see changed?

I would like to ban the low IQ attempts to have any and all attempts squashed
of the people in charge who tell builders not to mark a very tall buildings thirteenth floor.

It is stupid.

As a protest any building I enter I ALWAYS change the numbering of the buttons in an elevator.

I refuse to be beholden/bound/enslaved to someone elses spooky dreary numerology.

What other little stuff would you like to change in USA?

I would like to see people that can't properly compose a sentence be denied Internet access.
I would like to see the intimidate cessation of equating ignorance with intelligence.
I would like to see vandalism become a capitol crime.
I would like to see people that grossly over react to petty annoyances be beaten with a dead chicken while standing at the center of a pentagram.

Critical thinking is part of the curriculum in our high schools, but so is intolerance of critical thinking.

The kind of people that can't get a better job than being a teacher are probably the least qualified to teach children about questioning the system. In fact, it seems the idea of questioning systems of authority is anti-tema to school's raison d'etre. In sum:

1) Self-referential, 'ironic' lists should => Exhale.

Do you realize that half of your sentences have errors? Since at least one of your sentences seems to be correct, does that mean you get internet access?

A change I'd like to see: the part of the country who doesn't support good things for the rest of the world enough to change that view.

I'm not American, but you should force all of your people to travel overseas from time to time. And throw anybody in jail who calls Obama black...

I work in the film and entertainment industry. The way this society is becoming is gross and disgusting. Talent is based off followers on social media platforms. Young adults and teens are engrossed in their cellular devices. The physical world is no longer of interest to these people. Their public image, profile, and ultimately perceived reputation is of utmost importance. These people will do whatever it takes to gain status on these platforms. And the problem is, their jobs somewhat do depend on them having this sort of following. Social media is a huge platform for marketing. Whether it be huge studio films, or a small independent project. For instance, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's social media following adds an estimated 20-30 million dollars in marketing efforts to his projects. This new age idea only feeds these narcissistic (not the rock) individuals. I don't like it. And it isn't going anywhere. Some day there will be 12 step programs for kids who are addicted to their technology.

One criticism of American culture I have is that we glorify and encourage violence in our media, but collectively freak out over nudity. (Not over sexuality, but nudity.)

Perhaps forced travel is popular wherever you come from, but it's not all that big in the US. Personally, I don't enjoy travel at all. I like where I am just fine.

Obama is black, we call black people black, it's a distinction they're proud of.

Don't know whether travel is needed, but they do need to just see the world map for a good half an hour, that's it.
They don't understand (not all) that it's a country in the world, not the opposite.

And they also need to get the point.

I get the point just fine, but I don't agree with the assumptions behind it.

One co worker I chatted with when we talk of international friends we may have made friends with....

Me... Oh I have this many friends from such and such country.
Co worker: Umm why do you only have friends with countries we have made war with?
ME: wut....... #lol

That is like old school thinking.

Clearly you hate 'MURICA.

My entire family is like that except for my father who is possibly more along your line of thinking.

My father hates anyone who isn't from America.

After family divorce mother lives in diverse town.
father lives in all white redneck ville where it is so white even the entire staff of mcdonalds is just white teens. So growing up visiting him it felt like the twilight zone.

(which is funny since my mother is not born inside USA.)

I'd like to see reasonable self-defense taken for what it is more often. Right now a lot of Americans demonize it unless you've already been a victim (in which case it's kinda late) or have some concrete threat that they judge "legitimate".

I'd like to see law enforcement taken off the old-school pedestal that they clearly have not earned.

I'd like more people to vote in primaries so that the political radicals would be just as marginalized in the primaries as they are in the generals.

I'd like to see a more grounded educational system that teaches kids more practical skills, as opposed to the current "teach them to follow their dreams but don't give them any real tools to do so" approach. "Save the shop class" would probably be a lot more effective than "save the music" at improving quality of life.

I would like to see more of an emphasis on appreciation of innovation and education and less reliance on tradition. I'd also like to see less glorification of athletes and actors.

First, make news agencies (ALL of them) report the news.

Example. Dateline January 23rd, 2015. King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia dies, AND the government of Yemen is overthrown. Lead news story of every major news agency at 6'oclock? Deflated footballs.
