If the world started from scratch

kind of like Fight Club but on a larger scale
Imagine in one fell swoop we have the disappearance of government, money, economic status, social status, ownership, media...

what now?

edit: would the same type of people would take power?

edit2:
Complete collapse of soiety, electricity is out since the plant isn't running anymore.
If a guy had a gun in his closet, i suppose that cant be taken away from him.
Since we cant erase people's minds, religion would probably still exist

Some strong, good looking guy who's a great public speaker would rally the people and institute a new government. After things got organized again we'd be in for the same ride that were on right now. You can treat the symptoms, but only emo's know the cure.

What about technology? If you leave that, then whoever has the most guns rules.

If we wipe all technology, all recorded information (everything from books to art and hard drives), we still have the knowledge in our minds.

Assuming the latter, it still probably wouldn't look good.

World War II - nearly all of Europe was destroyed... Where are they now today? Their politics is highly advanced because many of the nations worked together.

every end brings a new beginning. every beginning opens the door to options. and options are chosen from the will of men.

"though we do grieve for the loss of mighty Tassadar, we must find the resolve to carry on...

he sacrificed himself to destory the Overmind, but many Zerg still rage across our ruined homeworld.

without the conclave to lead us, or the protection of our great fleets, it seems we must fend for ourselves." -From Auir to Shakuras.

"Although I have been recently appointed Praetor, you can trust that I will uphold the traditions of the Templar." -leadership and determination

Groove Coverage (song: the end): "Only faith helps you, only grace can do, only you can take the pain, 'cuz the end of time is the end of peace and the end of any happiness."

Yeah, thats nice and all...but the Marshall Plan and hundreds of thousands of Allied occupation troops didn't hurt.

Not that I think you're wrong, assuming that "many nations worked together"...but that just doesn't happen on such a scale very often, and with "the world starting from scratch", who would provide that in this scenario?
