If the US goes to war will you lose your job?

Will you? I honestly can't say whether or not I will or I won't. I do retail sales and I have no clue what it would be like once we start invading.

I work in retail as well but I'm not currently worried about losing my job, at least right now.

I doubt it, as my job is tied directly to the banking industry which is doing very well at the moment.

I doubt it, as my job is tied to teelcomm WAN operations, so actually I might have a MORE stable job, of all things.

i work at a university computer lab, so as long as they don't base marines there, i doubt my job will be in peril.

I won't lose my job, but one of the people in my group could very well be called up in the national guard. There are 5 of us and we have to have the position manned 24/7. So we will all have to work overtime if that one guy gets called to duty.:( I really hope it doesn't happen.

If we go to war, I'm going shopping. Why? Because people will be glued to their TV sets watching the same old repetitive news-feeds on CNN. Meanwhile, I'll enjoy the peace and quiet without too many people.

Througout the day and at the end of the day, I'll give thought towards those in the military who are fighting for our freedom.

Gee I wonder if tying up a trillion dollars in a war might affect things. Best not to think about consequences though. Thinking is dangerous, and unpatriotic.

Actually, the job market should open up a little, as more and more people quit their jobs as soon as their sleeper cells get the call.;)

As long as people require credit...I will have a job.

The war should actually help the economy a little, especially if it is a quick decisive action like the Gulf War. Will relieve alot of the war fears and the hemming and hawing.

War is not inevitable, but clearly this statement is imcomprehensible to those burying themselves with anti-war dirt.

Anti-war dirt. I like that.

Interesting when pro-war people by definition are pro war and very active. Nevertheless, Saddam could flee, or be shot, or get run over by a bus. All three would be acceptable to me, much more than blowing up the Iraqi people over what we have seen. If a war does happen (perhaps you are saying this is unlikely though and we need not be concerned) then consequences happen. What will they be? People ought to start asking these now, not later.

OUCH...just after I make my post above my boss comes by to tell me about a meeting in a little while because we had layoffs this morning! Fortunately, not me...being laid off twice in the past 9 months would not do much for my self-esteem :)

Maybe I should stay off the internet for a while :D
