If the rapture were to occur today, how many of you left behind would believe?

The rapture is when God comes for all the people who are saved and believes in him. Everyone else is left behind for the upcoming armageddon.

I'm just asking hypothetically, if it was to occur, would yo be looking for the nearest church for answers? Or would you still not believe in God?

For those of you who have read the Left Behind series of books, just imagine that happening, what would you do if you were left behind?

I hope this does not turn into a flame fest.

Are you asking if I would believe in god if god came down and started taking people away? I don't see how anyone would not believe in god if something like that started happening.

Now, would that happen? I'm not going to hold my breath...

I never asked if you think if it would happen or not.

When I say people disappearing does not neccessarily mean that you see God come down and scoop people up. But rather just people disappearing, their clothes being found where they last were and the person themselves, not being found anywhere. No blood, or murders, or anything violent. Just gone, gone to heaven.

I'd assume they were abducted by aliens...not gone to some make believe "heaven"

Where is heaven, btw, in the clouds? The asteroid belt? Alpha Centauri? Elizabeth Hurley's bedroom?

That's a valid answer, thanks.

And you "hope that this doesn't turn into a flame war"?

To answer your rephrased question, no, I would not believe in god if people just started disappearing. I'd much rather they be scooped up by a big hand.

Well, it would be moot because God isn't making a second trip. BTW, the Rapture happened last week. Nobody noticed.

If there really is a rapture (and this is debatable) I believe there would have to be believers left behind, in fact, the book of Revelation requires it for the Tribulation is described as "the Tribulation *of the saints*" Obviously one cannot be a saint if they're not a believer so there will undoubtedly be believers around after the rapture. Also, Revelation mentions "in which will be the blood of many saints" when referring to the destruction of Babylon.

imo, an alien race is infinitely more believable than a supernatural being and some pie-in-the-sky "heaven".

I believe in God and that Jesus is the savior of mankind but if the rapture occured I think I would still be left behind. I read the series of books and I find it hard to believe that after the rapture billions of people would still not believe.

You do realize that Revelations was a bunch of stories...meant to provide hope for the Christians being persecuted by the Romans, right? It's not a diagram of things to come.

And that, my friends, is the great deception of Revelation. The world will be deceived into believing that "aliens" created mankind and that they are our gods. Why else all the sudden interest in life in space? Gotta prepare the sheeple, right?

That's nice, thanks for sharing *your opinion*. I'll hang onto my own, thank you very much ;) BTW, you *really* don't want to get into an argument about the book of Revalation with someone who thinks we're living in the end times now, do you? I didn't think so ;)
Oh, and it's Revelation, singular, not plural. Not to nit-pick but it's a smell pet peeve of mine when people do this ;)

This is really a stupid question... all the sinners are the only ones left right? What do you think we'd be doing?? I'd be really fvcked up doing what ever the hell I wanted to do. If i'm not interested in the church before it happened what makes you think I would look thata way after the fact??

LOL. So here you are trying to start another religion flame fest, but then pretending to hope that this thread wouldn't turn into one. I hope the people here are smart enough not to fall into this game; but I'm only hoping.
