If the NFL added an expansion team

There are currently four teams in each division, eight divisions, 32 teams. If the NFL added an expansion team, how would the NFL handle it? Would there be five teams in one of the divisions? How would that work with playoff seeding and intra-division games? How could it made fair?

They'd have to realign or have divisions with odd number of teams. Just like they handled it before the Texans, Jaguars, and Panthers.

They'll either just add a team to an existing division or an existing team will relocate and there will still be 32 teams. They're not going to have major structural changes to the division structures for one additional team.

They would just add a team to a division on each side and change up the schedule structure.

They have a history of doing some odd things. For about three seasons before the Texans were added in 2002 the NFL had 31 teams and made it work. I think it was 5-5-5 in the NFC and 5-6-5 in the AFC with the extra team in the central. So they *could* do the same thing again, add one or two additional teams and just stick an extra team in one division. It wouldn't be fair to the teams in the division with the extra team, but they don't care as money is money and that's the important thing.

Ideally the re-alignment would be best if they added 4 teams and went to 36 where they could have 18 in each conference and go to 3 divisions of 6 teams each. I just don't think they could add 4 teams at one time, so maybe they'll go 2 in one batch in the next expansion and then 2 more five to ten years later.

NFL should just move 4 teams rather than expanding.

Jax, Stl, Cin, SD, Buf are the obvious choices to move.

Or how about give the second largest market in the country in team? Shiet I'd be willing to give up one baseball team, one hockey team, and one basketball team for one damn football team. We don't need two of every other sport if we don't even have a football team.

Bullshit, we have two of the best hockey teams in the league, and you'd sell them up the river for some scrub ass football teams? We're the rams or raiders ever even relevant when they were here?

I think one will come in two years. I can see it now, the West Covina (or Rowland Heights) Nobody Will Watch football team, just like before.

Raiders are still the biggest football team in the LA area. No one cared about the Rams.

There is an ESPN 30 for 30 directed and narrated by Ice Cube that is pretty good. It talks about the Raiders and the rise of the LA hip\hop and Rap scenes.
