If the green LED lights up on the Asus A7V mobo then it means my mobo is not shorted right?

It means that there is power going to your motherboard.....a warning not to electrocute yourself or possibly damage components.

Not really. You can short the motherboard in another place and the light will still be on.

jau and ColdTech, please keep it in the forums. I like to see the solutions to odd problems in the archives (and I like to read them). Thanks.

There is nothing wrong with your motherboard at all..that light comes on to tell you that the motherboard is getting power and doing its jobs. Its warning you to not do anything stupid, like removing or unplugging any items off of the board period. I find this a nice little touch on Asus motherboards...I have the P3v4x.

overnewbie, while jau did not flat out say so. I got the impression he believes the mobo is shorted and is having problems with it, however, the green light is comming on so he was wondering if that meant that his mobo was still good and that something else was the problem. Is this what you meant jau?
