The US is not a democracy, it is a constitutional republic. We elect officials we believe to best support our beliefs and ideals to represent us. It is not about listening to polls and deciding what to do then. That is why we have elections at specific intervals, we don't elect people for life.

Voting for someone that changes his beliefs on a dime depending on what polls say is not someone that was elected to best represent beliefs. That is just someone that wants power and wants to keep it for the sake of power alone. That, is someone who is dangerous since they are looking out only for themselves.

if you had asked me immediately after GWB passed no child left behind act or when he went into Afghanistan after 9-11 then I might have said GWB.

There is now no way in hell I would ever vote for GWB now. I would vote a million times against him if I could.
1). GWB and his Republican cronies attacking the patriotism of Vietnam vet and Sen. Max Cleland in 2002 because he didn't support a version of the homeland security bill. Pictures of Osama Bin Laden and Max Cleland were used together in the Chambliss ads.

2). Opposed the concept of the homeland security department (Democrats proposed) then embraced it when the political tide shifted. Implied that homeland security department should have been in place before 9-11 when he opposed the concept when the Democrats first proposed it after 9-11.

There are some things I wish we'd have done when I look back. I mean, hindsight is easy. It's easy for a President to stand up and say, now that I know what happened, it would have been nice if there were certain things in place; for example, a homeland security department.

The push for a new Cabinet-level department originally came from Democrats and was initially opposed by the administration.

3). Mislead the public on the primary reasons we went to war in Iraq. Was it because of the WMD and the direct threat to us or was it because Saddam was a bad guy and we want to establish democracy by force.

4). Tax cuts mostly for the wealthy no once but twice... ballooning $500,000,000,000 deficits and a 7 Trillion dollar and growing debt - the largest in the history of the world. He has not vetoed one spending measure. He has given everything to everyone. He has not asked for any sacrifice except by those men and women he sent off to fight in this war in Iraq.

5)He has not taken one ounce of personal responsibility for

a). intelligence failures and decisions that led up to 9-11
b). intelligence failures and decisions that led to things like "we know Sadamm has WMDs, and we know where they are"

no one has been fired and no one has been demoted :disgust:

6). I am mostly libertarian on most social issues. I could care less what you do as an adult. Supporting changing the Constitution of the United States to deny two gay people from marriage is cynical and borders on demagoguery.

Kerry would be so much better on so many issues. I also doubt he will surround himself with shady advisors from neocon PNAC group.

Cliffsnote version: I am proudly voting for Kerry because GWB has been a disaster imo.
