had resorted to blowing up restaurants, hotels, shopping centers, supermarkets, night clubs, buses, etc., in addition to opening fire on children at birthday parties, would the movement have been successful?
This is a valid point. Should terrorism EVER be rewarded? Should a terrorist state or organization ever have any of their demands met?
Just as happens when you give in to a whining child, placating terrorist will only bring more terrorism, not less.
We are teaching people that terrorism is a valid and effective means of getting their way. We must NEVER allow that to happen, no matter the cost... because trust me on this, the cost in NOT responding to terrorism will be far less than the cost of giving in to it and validating it.
[edit]
The only reason the terrorist mentality is so entrenched in Arab culture is because it WORKED against the Brits and the Russians. If it's going to EVER stop, it has to stop with never allowing it to succeed again.
Hah! Sorry, but no. That is one awesome analogy! This topic has been beat to death, but this is a point worth considering. Really drives home the point about which side to choose! Blacks were discriminated against badly. The Palestinians may have a point about being "pushed out", but if blacks had resorted to those tactics... BIG MISTAKE! No different for the PLO, and they're suffering for it daily.

It may be an interesting analogy but that doesnt change the fact I think its flamebait. Obviously, we disagree.
