Negligent Infliction of Emotional Distress and/or Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress? I think family members are in on the joke but they can't sign a release form for the person who's getting joked on right?

DA? :)

Doesn't proof of permanent emotional damage have to be shown before some kind of suit can be filed? I mean, all school psych experiments have to be pre-approved on potential emotional risk, and the guy who came up with the original Candid Camera had some of the same guidelines in his show. I'm guessing SpyTV has the same kind of guideline...

Doesn't everyone shown on camera have to sign a release? Methinks so. If the guy getting joked on doesn't sign its not aired, but they do provide a financial incentive I'm sure ;)

I thought that anything that was taped or photographed in a legal way could be shown, regardless of if they have consent? Like, if my neighbor were to walk out her back door naked, and I take a picture, I think I could legally distribute it because I didn't do anything illigal.
