if someone demanded an intelligent debate over whether there is a 9/11 conspiracy

Some Russian guy online wants to argue with me that there was a 9/11 conspiracy is true or that there is a real factual basis to it. Now, I just sent him a link to maddox's article on that, but should i actually waste the calories required to type and think of an actual response?

Do you care what this Russian guy thinks?

As someone else here has in their sig (and I'm paraphrasing): you can't change people's opinions about something using reason, if they didn't use reason to reach those opinions in the first place.

People who are looking for conspiracies will ALWAYS find them.

Russians are a special case... Read Pravda. They report psychics and UFOs as mainstream news. They might be the most gullible citizenry on the face of the earth after North Korea.

What about Christians, Muslims, Jews, cultists, etc.? :D Although I suppose you can't refer to them as a group in this case, since they aren't all citizens of the same country, but they are mostly citizens of something.

Not at the moment, no.. I am on the wrong end of the debate right now, as the last of what I saw about the Pentagon all pointed towards it not being a plane. However I remember reading plenty of evidence that destroyed the conspiracy theories, and if I got a refresher on that then it would be a fun debate :)

Yeah... if it weren't for the bits of American Airlines aluminum laying on the ground and engine parts... and body parts... Not to mention a missing flight and then there are the eye witnesses... I'd agree with you.

Hey there is an elementary school down the street teaching 2nd grade English. Maybe enroll there and learn how to read.

I simply said everything I've read recently has been evidence in the wrong direction and I'd need a refresher in what I read before. I know it wasn't a conspiracy but simply forgot what point-by-point evidence there was to refute some claims the conspiracy theorists make.

Read that highlighted part and tell me what you think you're saying.

It's impossible to have an intelligent debate when one side can only truly be defended by crackpots.

Edit: BTW, The Urinal Deuce ep of South Park was awesome. :D

with the way you described it there is not point you already have your opinion set and will not change therefor a debate/argue session is pointless. Now if the 2 of you have opens minds and consider things one at a time it may not be so pointless.
