If some magical dude came up to you and offered you immortality...

provided I could not develop anything debilitating, like arthritis or prostate issues, or CTS...I would. It'd give me time to learn all those things I wanna learn. Also, why would I want to hide being immortal? I'd just tell people, yeah, I'm gonna live forever. It's my insurance policy too...if some wacko tries to study me, people will notice "Where'd the immortal guy go?"

Somebody could physically torture me endlessly? For eternity? No thanks.

They could flay me alive, wait for my skin to grow back, and start over.

They could chop off my head, dismember all the parts of my body, rinse, repeat.

Put me through fire, ungodly temperature environments, drown me three times over.

I'm not into that kind of pain.

would you take it? live forever~ be like superman and invulnerable to anything, I mean you will always heal from anything but you can feel pain like a normal human and no you won't have super strength.

edit:

Conditions on living forever:
You have the chance to kill yourself every 500 years, by transferring your gift/curse to someone else like the magical dude did to you 😎
Living forever would mean staying at the age of 28.
Basically, you would have wolverine's healing powers 😕 and you can regrow a limb in several months.
It would be hard to rob a bank, what if they give you eternal torture if you're caught?
No one else will live as long as you do! (The magical dude will never reappear again ! )

Is this from the sci fi (or comic book) you are reading or writing?

So what happens if I donate all my organs?
You grow your old ones back and then you can donate them again. 🙂
So if I donate all of them at once, I'll grow them back in a few months?

Apparently. But I guess you'll either be hurting for those months or in some sort of coma or something while you heal.

It would suck if you got life in prison without the possibility of parole.

That's an old joke. But if it was possible to have eternal life, then that's probably what'd happen to that person.

On a side note, what if you could live forever but it was like 'groundhog day'. You kept living the same day over and over. That could be cool, especially if it was in a busy place like NYC where you could try just about anything and it'd still be different to you every day. And eventually you could go after your one true love and get out of the loop.

What if. Hah.

I always imagined what if you had to live through the same day every day, but you did it in the body of every human that is alive. It would be like the movie Groundhog day and the old TV show Quantum Leap combined. Think how long that would take, almost 7 Billion people in the world, so 7 Billion days divided by 365 days in a year equals about 19 million years!!!

Hmm, which means you could be mistaken for dead and buried alive! :Q

I think it would be great!

Can you imagine being able to go to sleep for say, 10 years, and waking up, and having to relearn and catch up?? It would be incredible to keep learning new things... and to be around for when incredibly momentous things occur...

Hell Yea is my answer..

I wouldnt because what if he didnt offer my GF (maybe wife) it also? You would run through tons of GFs if you lived forever...

lol, better add making your g/f forever compatible with you. people grow apart in one life time, many several times with different people.
