If seeing a psychologist was free...

lol, its cool, I was skeptical of him at first, ill admit, but he has been so cool about everything, i owe a lot to him

Seriously, I've known a LOT of people get their lives straightened out by seeing psychologists.

You know, the type who are always f*ck-ups, manage to screw up every relationship they are in, can't keep a job down, etc.

Also, the more obviously 'needing help' type - perpetually depressed, folks with violent mood swings.

There really actually IS a reason for ANY human behavior, and often a fairly easy solution. The people have to see they have *some* kind of problem, though. Good advice does no good if ignored.

Heck, I wouldn't even go see a doctor for just a medical exam if it was free, think the last time was when I was 6ish and got my head cut and needed stitches and that was over almost 18 years ago.

Just a normal man and only go to one if my arm falls off or something 😀

I definitly would. I don't have any significant problems, but it would be a great way to relax and get a better grasp of a happy fulfilling life.

peace

nope. no problems ive come across i couldnt reason out/solve for myself.

we are all "a little off" in one way or another. i dont need to pay someone, week after week, to tell me that and what i need to do to fix it, or convince me i need more chemicals swirling around in my noggin.

Did you read the title of the thread? 😛

Not a chance in hell. I used to work at an outpatient mental health clinic here in Seattle, and I'd rather deal with my problems on my own.

That and my older brother went to a pshrink a few years ago for depression, and came out blaming my parents for not encouraging him to be more social in high school. The dumb bastard didn't want to do anything but play on the computer, which led to his current well paying job, and the life he seems to enjoy. BUT IT'S ALL THEIR FAULT. Boo f'ing hoo.

Yeah, the stranger can be objective and non-biased.

Sounds like your "dumb bastard" brother is the problem and not shrinks. If all he can do is blame blame blame then he obviously has some sort of problem.

Why did your work in the clinic make you feel that way?

this is the main reason i enjoy talking to him

I'm currently seeing one for drugs/depression. Started a little over a week ago though, so I'm not sure if he really helps yet. 😛
