I think he's just asking IF ResellerRatings shuts down...

Well, if they do, there's always bizrate.

I remember reading in another thread that reselleratings while still up isn't updating it's database anymore. the guy who was doing it can't afford it or something.

Anyone else hear about this?

if you were concerned about it not updating, you could go to the site and check right?

i just went there, and clicked on Newegg, and the last comment was left Sat Dec 15 12:07:20 2001.

I entered comments twice for Alienware and neither time did my comments get posted. This was about 3 weeks ago that I added the comments. The last comment for Alienware was August 29th..

I posted comments about a company LiquidIonTechpc.com . They ripped me off, and I wanted to let people know. My comments still haven't shown up. I think new sites can't be added, but updates still work on sites in the database.

that makes more sense.

that sucks if they stopped adding stores, i can't imagine it costs that much to run such a simple site, guess i'll start clickin' those ads.

reselleratings, not enought people there to input their experiences so it hard to tell if some vendor is bad or good.

If there are a lot of responses on ResellerRatings and the ratings
numbers are bad, you can take that info to the bank. If the
rating is good, you have to read carefully through the comments
to see if there's been larding of the comments...It's very easy
for a merchant to fake a good rating. That's the basic problem
with RSR.

I don't think it's a matter of "if". IIRC, the hosting company that hosts ResellerRatings was bought by another company and at that time, the buyer didn't have any interest in "developing" or "contributing" to the RR site. I don't think the RR manager didn't have time to do manage the site, it was a business decision.

If it's really needed, I'll try to find a link to the story from a couple months back.

i use it all the time too, there are 43716 users registered.
well, i never bought from bad rating vendors and i didn't have any bad online buying experience yet. i prolly bought like 30 or more from 20+ vendors.
