All this did was place the choice back to the voters and the representatives in each state to decide what the laws in their state will be. Which is by the law as abortion isn't covered by federal law and it falls back on the states to decide.
OR
Congress could get their collective heads out of their asses and pass a law that would cover the issue and be acceptable to all concerned within reasonable guidlines. Such as elective abortions allowed up to 15 weeks, allowed for rape, incest or medical reasons after 15 weeks.
We also need to understand that some compromises need to happen on both sides of this issue as it is impossible to please everyone.
