If possible...PVR + PVP = :)

PVR = Tivo or ReplayTV
PVP = Archos AV320

I understand the Tive has a video-out to VCR (RCA or S-Video right?) but that's analog and would be insanely slow to copy over. Is there no way to pull the data over Digitally? I just want to be able to download my favorite shows so I can watch them during my work commute.

I stopped over to the AVSForums, but I see warnings all over about it being prohibited to discuss 'video extraction'? Seems a little weird that it would be outlawed if the units have an video-out capability, I mean we're only talking a difference of analog vs. digital right?

I'm a total newb with all this, any and all help is MUCH appreciated.

You want to move your recorded stuff over to your computer? if thats what you want to do its very easy to do with replaytv and dvarchive. Just connect the replay to your home network and its set to go.

I want to download the shows onto the PVP (Personal Video Player), like an Archos AV320, and watch them on my commute to/from work.

I'm checking out DVArchive now, thanks arod.

dvarchive should do what u need it to.... it gets the files over to your computer but mainly people turn them into vcd's but that player should be able to play them provided u can add codecs and such (not sure exactly if u need anything for that player that are embedded in the replaytv files)
