If people in Kentucky got shot and made the top news on CNN this should be a top headline on every single newspaper nation wide. The following occurred in the Mall de Norte in Laredo, TX at Circuit City Retail Store. People started camp out outside the Circuit City around Tuesday/Wednesday for the PS3. They were informed that camp out would not be permitted because the mall is privately owned and they did not wish for campers. People were kicked outside the mall property and were told that camping will be allowed as long as it was outside the mall property. They?d also informed that cars will be towed from the parking lot after 10pm, but they did have a tow truck at the scene for a couple of hours. The line for the Ps3 was supposedly to start at 4am Friday and so it did not and started 20 minutes before (it was every man for himself at the moment there were no such clue as when to commenced). As the countdown got closer more people were arriving at the scene; my estimate was over 120 peoples. They were people on foot, bicycles, cars, and yes even with sport motorcycles. As soon as the first kid starts to run everyone at the scene began to head toward the store. This could have caused many injuries or even deaths and all because management was done not permitted camping in a peaceful way and so this was the outcome. The mall securities and Laredo Police were there (with about 6 Units), but were incapable of doing anything about the situation. It was all because the faulty management organization of Circuit City and the Mall de Norte Owners.

P.S. Thanks for receiving my story. I just thought that I should inform you guys about what happen at my town. Unlike nation wide this store, along with the mall owners, did not allowed camping, and so the outcome could have escalated. In my truthful opinion this perhaps was the only city that was so bitter head and ignorant to allowed something so unplanned to occur. Thankfully I believe that NO persons were injured in the process.

You're crying because something could have happened, but didn't?

Dude, nothing happened! Why all of the build up for nothing. You got your panties in a bunch over something that possibly, could happened.

Which is why it didn't make any headlines.

Yeah, I read that at some line a guy offered $1500 cash to take someone's spot in line...and no one took it. Wow, that really worked out well for the campers:disgust:

I can just see the headline now:

"Nothing of interest happens at Texas PS3 launch"

Considering it was in his town, I think he just wants to whine that he was one of the affected parties, and that he wasn't able to get a PS3 because of it.

So the mall didn't allow camping because, understandably, they didn't want a bunch of people sitting around inside their property after hours. Instead, they forced them to sit outside, just like everywhere else in the country...and so these people, of their own volition, acted like maniacs once the gates were opened, but luckily no one was hurt?

I see not the injustice done.

What you described in your story happens every Fri-Sun in my town outside multiplexes/theatres for every next big movie. Things actually get pretty crazy out here. Advance/Online bookings only give away like 40% of the seats. The other 60% is a mad dash the second the gates are flung open.

(BTW, I was the first guy in my town to get tickets for Mission:Impossible 2, The Matrix Sequels and some other cheesy big-budget movies. The events leading up to them were as out-of-hand as most PS3 brawls - minus the shootings.)
