There's a lot of talk that Trump absolutely won't get the Republican nomination but not much following on who gets it instead. So now it's time to put up or shut up. :) Who gets the nomination if not Trump?

Poll is up. Further edited for clarity.

A Trump nomination is the current trend, unless someone really pulls it out. If Trump wins SC, NV and goes on the win Super Tuesday, how is he not the nominee?

Are you asking who we would pick or prefer or what our personal take on what the reality would be?

I think Kasich is the only realistic candidate left. BTW: I think Jeb! bringing out W did himself a huge disservice.

So if not Trump then...............Trump?

Why would you include him in the poll asking who could get the nomination instead of him?

Logic fail detected.

I do not understand how anyone in their right mind would vote for Trump. Serious.

The more I watch the more I would have to vote for Jeb Bush or Kasich.

The memo says no more Bushes or Clintons.

Are you honestly going to sit home, if it comes down to Trump vs. Hillary? Don't be so serious. Once Trump gets past his knockout rhetoric, he'll emerge a bit different, once he has the nom. He has to fight and kill off the opposition. I understand how he's playing with the establishment. He knows what he's doing, as far as clearing the plate.

I would not vote for the hildabeast or bernie under any circumstances short of gun in my back.

If Trump get the nod I'll vote for him, and pray for the best.

There ya go. We've tried everything else and many of us are either frustrated or angry. In the event he can make things work, there is a possibility that he can pull us all up. I can get behind that.

Our nation needs to become a nation of opportunity again. We can't afford to become a nation of charity. That just doesn't finance itself. 19 Trillion in debt and Obama wants a budget that requires another 4 Trillion. What would a Bernie budget look like? The consequences of poor financial management will hit us very hard in our lifetime, if we don't choose a better course. Voting in liberal democrats is not going to change that course. The millennial generation is the worst generation I have seen in my lifetime, as far as entitlement mentality. I used to think it was Gen-X, but that would be my son and he became a great VP of a major bank.

If not Donald Trump then I think Donald Trump? Why is Donald an option here?

I answered Rubio before I noticed Trump was an option, because if it is not Donald then I think Rubio will be the least objectionable to the largest number of Republicans. Cruz is way too polarizing and Bush carries too much baggage. Kasich is the best option and thus, "not conservative enough." Carson shouldn't even be an option here.

So a VP huh? That makes him what, a teller? Major banks hand out corporate titles like candy. I had an officer title pretty soon after starting my career and was still answering phones in the call center. j/k congrats to your son, but you might want to ask him what his real title is.

Back on topic, it has to be either Bush or Kasich. The last two nominations have gone to the "moderate establishment" candidate and I can't see why that trend would suddenly change.

Two words: Brokered Convention. I think that if Trump comes out of this as the likely candidate the other candidates will start to make deals to gather enough support to supplant him. My guess is that everyone else will give their delegates to Bush giving him just enough to push Trump out of top place.

Trump is the kind of guy you almost wouldn't mind winning the primary if only to stick it to the man and the establishment. But he's not the kind of guy you actually want running around as President.

I would still vote for Trump over either hildabeast or bernie in the national election.

And that's exactly what scares me. I find Kasich to be reasonably the best uniter of the country from the GOP side but compared to having Trump, I'd rather divide the country into 2 and let everyone be happy under states rights.

The decisions we make in November will decide the next 40 years, not just the next 4.
