If Not SLI, Then What?

If you aren't really a gamer, but do lots of app intense programs and video burning and editing, what board would you use if not going with SLI? I don't need two videocards...

I currently run an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe on an XP 3000+, but wanting to upgrade. (I do like the ASUS board though!) Going to Athlon64 or 64 X2.

Or, is the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe (or premium) still the way to go anyway???

Is nForce4 Ultra the best option for my needs --- recommendations?

Will be running a Raptor 74gb Raid and a WD 400gb for storage.

Would also like to go with 2gb's of Corsair.

THANKS!

I don't plan on using the SLI feature of my MB either. I went with it (Premium) to avoid the the Chipset noise/failure issue.

The SLI NF4 has all the features that the Ultra NF4 has and more, so that should do you fine.

I haven't looked in awhile, but it was not uncommon to find the Premium to be cheaper than the Deluxe.

Just my $.02
