It's better at disapating heat from the CPU then aluminum in cheaper coolers

I scraped off the thermal pad and put some Compusa brand silver thermal compound. Temps are still about the same.
But I did do one thing that seems to have dropped 3 or 4 degrees C off my temps. I took my 120mm exaust fan and turned it around so it blows in. I duct taped a piece of foil cloths dryer tubing to the fan and pointed it down right on top of the CPU fan. Since I no longer have exhaust I removed 5 empty PCI slots so the air flows out of there.
What do you guys think of this? Looks pretty jerry rigged, but so far it seems to have dropped my temps a few degrees.
