if my car's wheel/rim has 5 'lugs,' is there a way to put a 4 'lugged' one in it?

my friend is selling his wheels for cheap, and I love how they look, but my car has five lugs while his wheels has four, is there a way that I could fit it in?

Not without cahnging the rotors. Not worth it unless those wheels are free what kind of car is it.

<< the rotor is the entire "axile?" >>

no, you'll need to change all your wheel hubs which is probably a no-no in the first instance!
bottom line is it's probably more trouble than it's worth! :(

It is possible to buy adapter plates, but they were popular years ago and are very hard to find now. JC Whitney might still have them. It is preferable to just get the right wheels. Also, you can not downgrade a five lug wheel to a four lug, that would be foolish and asking for trouble. The hub has five lugs for a reason.
